
Hot Job: Associate Director of Direct Procurement

The available position is in the food production industry and presents an opportunity for advancement and growth in a $4 billion, profitable manufacturing company. The associate director of procurement will lead $200 million in ingredients and packaging, as well as in utilities (electrical power and natural gas).
The associate director of procurement will be challenged to continue improving the organization to higher levels as it’s grown to more than 4,000 employees and 11 global locations. This company expects the associate director to have demonstrated experience in mitigating supplier risk and working within the organization on critical component contingency planning.
Managing a team of four procurement employees, the associate director needs to be a good coach and mentor with a strong work ethic, high creativity and resourcefulness. The position holds the responsibility for the company’s entire procurement function, including supplier quality and service performance, with an eye towards innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.

The minimum job requirements are a Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, supply chain management, operations, or a related field. You’ll need at least five years experience in the food industry, along with 10 years of strategic sourcing and procurement experience. Five years experience in a managerial or supervisory role is another requirement. Some ERP application experience is also required.
The position’s preferred qualifications include specific SAP ERP experience, and an MBA. Exposure to energy sourcing as well as price risk management and hedging commodities will all help you get hired for this great job.
